How do you make a catch attempt?

Choose a connected Wild node and win its battle. At the capture choice, review the Pokémon and the balls available before selecting one. Wait for the result; an unsuccessful attempt is not a new party member.

  1. Win the Wild battle

Subdue the target before the capture choice.

  2. Choose one ball or leave

You have one throw in that encounter.

  3. Check the result

Confirm the addition in your party or Box.

Which targets and outcomes need care?

Trainer-owned Pokémon cannot be caught. A full party does not prevent a successful catch from being stored: the help names the Box as the destination after six party slots.

Do not import capture rates from the main Pokémon games. This project’s numeric catch formula and Elite-specific exceptions are not established by the sources reviewed.

Why did an older developer answer mention Bosses and Elites?

On September 17, 2026, the developer described capture screens after bosses or elites. The current How to play screen read October 7 explicitly describes Wild capture, matching the later supplied video’s narration. Use the current Wild instructions; preserve the older statement as dated history rather than treating it as a current restriction.

Does a reported Trainer catch change the catch rules?

One player initially reported catching what seemed to be a Trainer’s Pokémon and seeing an earlier Trainer message, then questioned whether the encounter was actually wild. That uncertainty does not establish Trainer capture eligibility or a confirmed classification bug. Follow the live encounter label and capture prompt rather than treating this report as a new capture method.
